Pasco JDC
CCC #2008-02930
Complaint
My son was in the Pasco County Detention center and since he has been
back home he has brought to my attention some things that I find a bit
odd, to say the least. The first thing is why would the guards at the
Pasco Detention Center use Lysol to "wash" the boys hair?? This is very
disturbing. What are we paying the incarceration fees to these
facilities for? Can we not afford shampoo for these kids? At a minimum
can we refrain from dumping Lysol on their heads!! I would just like to
know what purpose this serves. If Lysol was meant to be used on anyone's
hair, it would be found in the hair-care isle in stores!!!
Also at Pasco Detention Center the boys are forced to sleep in their
underwear!! No clothing!! This is a major intimidation factor. These
kids have been through the "assessment center" already and deemed to NOT
be a threat to themselves, so why make them sleep in next to nothing, in
sub standard temps??!! This entire system is bordering on destroying the
spirit of these kids. Things need to change!! [Click here
