DJJ's block of J4K website "shows that the...website is significant" 05/13/08 Corry to Jones: "I am not
dismayed...[the block] shows that the Justice4Kids website is significant" Becky, Thanks for your note and your insight. I am not dismayed. The block is not surprising. It shows that the Justice4Kids website is significant enough to be on the blocked list - right along with other popular and high-profile websites! Justice4Kids.org is a valuable resource. I have received compliments on the website, including from attorneys at the U S Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division. I have also received numerous inquiries from private attorneys seeking information about abuse and neglect of youth while in DJJ custody. And, most important, parents and youth utilize the resources on Justice4Kids.org in their attempt to navigate the tangled web of juvenile 'justice'. We agree with your concern about 'unprofessional ranting', as is what often occurred on the Justice4Kids Bulletin Board. That is one of the reasons why, after seven years, we recently started a blog which includes a 'Rant and Rave' post topic. See http://j4kbuzz.blogspot.com/ Cathy Corry - www.Justice4Kids.org [05/12/08 Jones to Corry: "I share
your dismay about your website being blocked...[but] I would have made the same
decision"] Cathy, I share your dismay about your website being blocked on DJJ computers, but I have to say that I would have made the same decision in his shoes. Too much of the content is unprofessional ranting. If you partitioned the website into two areas; one for blogging and rants and the other for serious, professional concerns and monitored what is published on the professional portion, you would have the support of the Department. Just my 2 cents worth. Becky Jones 04/09/08 Too popular, DJJ bans Justice4Kids.org, April 9, 2008. |
